The bloom of flowers, the song of birds, warm rays of sun. All sure signs summer is coming to Maine. And at any Maine boatyard, add the splash of hulls entering the water and the smell of fresh varnish.
With Memorial Day passed, Derecktor Robinhood is back in full swing and feeling like the special place it is to so many. Boats are out of hibernation, slips are filling up and the Anchor Bar and Grill at the Osprey is serving up Maine fiddleheads and fresh seafood along with sublime views of the cove.
The schooner Mary E, a winter resident at our docks, was hauled and relaunched after a bottom job, then headed upriver to her home base at the Maine Maritime Museum. Launched in 1906, the Mary E is oldest Bath built schooner afloat and represents an important link to the areas maritime history. We are proud to play a part in keeping her sailing.
At the marina, changes for this year include improved wifi, our newly renovated heads and showers and a new crane for spars, engine removal and other work. A variety ion events are planned for the summer, including events at the library, live music and, of course, Summerfest.
Stay tuned for updates. And savor summer at Robinhood.
