Warren G. Harbison
November 16, 1947 to February 12, 2021
Warren Harbison, who for 25 years was the heart and soul of Robinhood, passed away February 12. Our hearts go out to Warren’s wife Lynne and his family and friends. For all who knew and worked with him, Warren was simply a blessing.
Officially our Administrative Manager, he was actually the all-purpose go-to for customers, employees, vendors and everyone else for all everything Robinhood. His grace, kindness and knowledge were as much a part of Robinhood as the beauty of Riggs Cove is.
Warren’s effect on Robinhood is best expressed by those fortunate enough to work with him:
“Warren was the voice of reason. Not just here at Derecktor Robinhood, but in everything he did. If you couldn’t figure out a solution to a problem, you could take it to Warren and in his calm and gentle way, he would figure out a way to make it work. He never ceased to amaze me. Warren never thought of what he did here as just a ‘job.’ He truly cared about the business, the people and this glorious place we call Robinhood. Warren was a very dear friend. I miss him every day.”
Wendy C. Reed – Customer Service Manager at Derecktor Robinhood
“I feel lucky and grateful for the time I got to spend with Warren here at Derecktor Robinhood. He was knowledgeable and open, and had many interesting stories from his past to share. He had a great laugh and a dry wit. The time we spent together was too short, and I feel his absence every day. He was my dear friend.”
Neil Collins – General Manager
“Warren had an interesting background in the boat business, from building J-24 sailboats at their West coast factory in California, to working in an inflatable boat plant (if you remember in one of the Indiana Jones movies, Indy jumps out of an airplane of a rubber boat, drifting safely to the ground) Warren worked on that boat, and eventually becoming the new boat delivery Manager and skipper for Sunsail Yacht Charters in their Fort Lauderdale office. Strangely enough Warren didn’t really like boats that much!”
Gordon Reed – DRH Yacht Broker
“I am lucky to have had Warren as my mentor. He was more than that, he was my friend. It was more like a family than work with him at the helm.”
Jessie Morrison – Financial Manager
“He was a sweet guy and worked diligently at his job. Warren was a trusted individual who could be counted on to do the right thing when dealing with the employees and company interests. During the later years Warren enjoyed the challenge of the houseboat rentals and interacting with the many new customers. It was a joy to work with Warren for many years with great memories and I shall miss him.”
Andy Vavilotis – Former Owner of Robinhood
